Open a new file, 10 pixels wide by 20 high, 16 million colors, witha white background. Zoom in on your graphic using the magnifying glass.Next, pick a pleasing color for your foreground, and use the Floodfilltool to color in your file. Here I've used blue.
Switch your foreground color to the background, and choose blackas your new foreground color. Next, go to your Flood Fill tool and changethe setting to Linear Gradient. In the Control/Tool Options palette, setthe Gradient Angle to 180 degrees. If you are using PSP 6, be sure thatRepeats is set to 0. Now click on the Selections tool and make surethat it's set to Rectangle. Choose an area on your image covering aboutthe top one third of the window. Return to your Flood Fill tool, and clickinside the selected area.
Switch the background and foreground colors (the background shouldnow be black) and select the lower third of your window this time. Again, use your Flood Fill tool to apply the gradient.
Now we need to add a highlight. Using the Shape Select tool again, choose a thin rectangular area just above the center of the window. Goto Colors, Adjust:Brightness and Contrast. Increase the brightness by 20percent.
Click on your Flood Fill tool again, and choose Pattern. Under theoptions menu, choose the image you've been working on. Now we're readyto create our 3-D bar. Open a new window, 20 pixels high by about 550 pixelswide. Click on the area with your Flood Fill tool. Save as a JPG.
